Get a job in NABARD! - Assistant Manager - Grade A (RDBS)

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Recruits freshers for various posts. NABARD releases notifications for recruitment depending on the vacant posts. These are the few posts for which NABARD released notifications in the past few years:

  • NABARD Assistant Manager (Grade ‘A’)
  • NABARD Manager (Grade ‘B’)
  • NABARD Development Assistant
  • NABARD Office Attendant

Last year, NABARD released a notification for recruiting an Assistant Manager (Grade A) with 150 Vacancies. In 2024, NABARD may release more vacancies for the post of Grade A on its official website: NABARD.org.

NABARD Grade A: Job Profile

What does the assistant manager in Grade A do? 

  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data for agricultural and rural development projects.
  • Project Management: Plan, implement, and monitor projects aimed at rural infrastructure development and livelihood enhancement.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement policies related to rural development and agricultural finance.
  • Credit Management: Manage credit facilities and loans for farmers and rural entrepreneurs.
  • Capacity Building: Organize training programs for stakeholders in rural areas.
  • Research: Conduct research on agriculture and rural development topics.
  • Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with relevant organizations and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor project progress and evaluate their impact for continuous improvement.

These responsibilities collectively contribute to NABARD's mission of fostering rural development and agricultural growth in India.

Eligibility Criteria 2024

Academic Qualification

For Asst. Manager (RDBS) - General post, A candidate needs a bachelor’s Degree in any subject from any recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 60% marks (SC/ST/PWBD applicants - 55%) in aggregate OR Post Graduate degree, MBA/PGDM with a minimum of 55% marks (SC/ST/PWBD applicants - 50%) in aggregate OR CA/ CS/ICWA OR PhD from Institutions recognized by GOI/UGC.

Apart from the General post, If a candidate is applying for any other discipline (like Geo Informatics, Forestry etc)  the candidate needs the same level of academic qualification in that particular discipline.

Note: Bachelor’s Degree in a particular discipline means that the candidate must have studied that discipline as the main subject in the respective degree course and it must be mentioned in the Degree Certificate issued by the University/Institute.

Age Qualification

  • The candidate must be between 21 and 30 years old. (as of month in which vacancy notification is released).
  • Upper-age relaxation is given to students of the following categories:

Children/family members of victims died in the 1984 riots.

10 years for PWBD (General); 13 years for PWBD (OBC) and 15 years for PWBD (SC/ST) applicants.

The selection process is done in three phases:
A- Preliminary Exam
B- Mains Exam
C- Interview

A Psychometric Test can also be conducted after the Mains exam!

Note: Descriptive Answers are to be typed using a keyboard either in English or Hindi (Remington and Inscript keyboards). General English Paper can only be answered in English.

For the post of Specialist, Paper II will be a specific Paper instead of the "Economic and Social Issues & Agriculture and Rural Development" Paper.

Interview
  • The Interview (RDBS) will be of 50 Marks.
  • Candidate may opt for the interview either in Hindi or English.
1/4th of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted as a penalty in the preliminary and main exams.

NABARD Grade A: Application Fee

  • Candidates need to pay ₹650 as an Application fee and ₹150 as Intimation charges etc. making it a total of ₹800.
  • SC/ST/PWBD, only need to pay ₹150 for Intimation charges etc.
  • All NABARD employees can apply free of cost. ( Intimation charges etc. will be reimbursed)

NABARD Grade A: Salary 2024

(a) Pay Scale: Selected candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹ 44,500/- p.m. in the scale of Rs. 44500 – 2500 (4) – 54500 – 2850 (7) – 74450 – EB – 2850 (4) – 85850 – 3300 (1) – 89150 (17 Years) applicable to Officers in Grade 'A'.

They will be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly gross emoluments are approximately ₹ 1,00,000/-.

(b) Perquisites: Bank's accommodation subject to availability, reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of vehicle for official purpose, newspaper, internet, telephone charges, book grant, allowance for furnishing of residence, etc. as per eligibility. Free dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment/hospitalisation as per eligibility. Interest-free festival advance, Leave Travel Concession, Loans and Advances at concessional interest rates for Housing, Car, Education of children, Consumer articles, Personal computer, etc.
